The way I see it they could've just forgone the entire 2nd stage and done something else with the cash. I didn't go to singfest so i'm not sure if the 2nd stage was put up just for local bands/novelty sideshows, but if it was, then kudos to them for actually trying.
Fact is, no one who buys singfest tix buys them for the local bands.
Maybe if a local band gets big enough, and they become a band that the singfest organizers would ask to perform irregardless of them being local, then yea.
Maybe SINGFest needs to do a clean up and start a checklist of bands that comes to singapore and perform...
When i look at the list, it's all so commercialised.. For the love of music, please bring in better bands rather than overplayed, mainstream bands just for the sake of money...
