Hey all! Thought I'd start this thread to ask for advice for stage performances, how to get rid of stage fright etc. As my band would be signing up for baybeats, stardust etc and it's our first time going up on stage, so would like some advice? Feel free to comment!
I've been invited by *Scape to give a talk on the 27 or 28 March'10 (weekend trip) regarding the Music industry and I'll be touching on some of the topics you've asked about . If you guys have the time you should check it out , details will be out soon
i think filming ur band perform might be the easiest way to fix ur problems, it's hard for others to tell u what ur band lacks. maybe try videoing urself jamming in a studio?

There's always a start to everything.. I believe all bands had this fear when they first appeared on stage.
Just remain calm.. that's the most important. Treat it like a normal jamming session.
The first time i played in front of audience, i admit I was nervous and i looked down at my guitar all the way.. it kinda helped.

- pretend u are a pro
- must have GOOD sound balance on stage (no point playing wen u cant hear urself or the vox or wateva)
- dun play n stand like lamp post
- dun be afraid or kanchiong wen u do mistakes
- learn how to cvr ur mistakes
- enjoy the music u r playing (the whole band must enjoy,if not u will look like a fool jumping2 and the rest of the band become lamp post)
most importantly,have fun.
i perform almost every nite n i still do mistakes. but i enjoyed myself like how i want the crowd to enjoy it.
ps: if none of the above works for u... drag dwn 4 bottles of stout. settle the kettler

Excellent advice....
esp the stout bit
Could even try breaking an egg in your stout. You'll be a six-stringed viagra machine.

I had a little solo (not exactly shred, but it was a fast bluesy solo) once and I just kept staring at my guitar. I kept missing notes. But it did help me pull the solo off, it could have been worse!
