Default I need Help. Any recommendation?

I would like to buy a Mixer ALESIS 8USB. Price is $280.
Any comment for a beginner like me? Can this mixer plug the usb to my laptop? Window Vista home edition.

And also I wanna find a mic. Any recommendation? For recording voice + a minus one song.
Any mic to recommend? my budget is $100 - $150.

URGENT

Thank you.

p.s : I wanna buy mixer because i want to record my voice n the keyboard at the same time. And i hope it sounds better than handphone recording.

280+150 = 430

you might as well buy a Zoom H4 with that budget.

pls read my new thread here :

you can either record your keyboards first.
then multitrack record vocals after that with the onboard mics.

or just put the mics infront of your keyboard speakers + sing infront of it.

well it's not a waste of cash, what you have in mind also works, but lose out on the portability. at least yours make room for more inputs heheh. for me I feel most ppl get into situations where inspiration strikes on song writing and H4/H2 would be handy to record on demand.

the audio technica mic is good, there's alot of good reviews about it on bang for buck
