Default KRK RP-5 or YAMAHA MSP5

I'm deciding between these two for home recording use. Anyone knows where i get to test both of them?(At one location)

I would strongly recommend you get the Yamaha HS-50ms instead of the MSP5s.

For the KRK RP5s, Sinamex does stock them. However you might also want to try out the M-Audio Studiophile Bx5as. They cost roughly the same.

Why not the msp5s?

I did not have the chance to test it out. But I did test out the HS80 and MSP7 series. It seems like the HS80 has got more emphasis on the highs and maybe.. the upper portion of the mids or whatever you call it. A bit too much I think.

That was why i prefer the MSP7 and in turn, the MSP5 which might have the same sound quality.

Maybe I'll go down sinamax soon to test things out too.

the msp7s are the last monitors to be designed by the japanese dude that who did NS10s. they not as neutral but i believe they r better than the hs80s

in short the msp series r yamaha's premium studio monitor series , go for it man. the krks r prettier but i dun think they r better but in the end u want one that sonically appeals to u so go listen if u can but take into account the environment that u listen,
in sinamex might sound nicer cos its quiet.

Gonna get the msp5s

Tested at friends place and it sounded great working with sonar and line6 gearbox. Didn't manage to do comparison with other speakers but i think mps5 would do the job. Also , gut feeling.. i think KRK might be more suitable for bassy stuff like acid jazz ... dance.. etc..
