I have never heard horror stories about m-audio. Some might not like the touch of the keys but in my opinion their controllers are one of the better ones out there.

Steinberg Asia carries ESI. My peeve about it, when I tried one some 2 years back, was it doesn't come with any installer CD and WinXP couldn't recognize it. Even after going to their website and downloading the driver!

Unlike M-Audio controllers which are just "plug and play" the ESI needs a "bit more" coaxing to get it to work!

I don't know about now, though. They may have gotten it right, but cost-wise, not much diff. from M-Audio, I believe.
