Default Good site to download midi patches?

I've been searching on the net for awhile, but i get either midi soundtracks (composed music) or nothing really related.
I think i'm using the wrong search terms, can anyone share their good sites please?
Planning to use it on a yamaha psr2000.. and if it helps, i'm looking for mainly the synth kind of sounds, ambient music type?

Hi, I'm not entirely sure what you are asking for. You mentioned looking for midi files. Then you mentioned "synth sounds". Midi files are not sounds. They are basically programmed tracks which trigger your keyboard sound bank (usually via the GM sound bank, or the XG sound bank in your Yamaha). There is no way you can expand the sound bank of your PSR, if that's what you are thinking about.

Oh. Forgive my noobness. It's still abit of a confusion for me. Maybe that's why i couldn't get what i was looking for.
There isn't a way? Hmm i vaguely remember the manual saying that i could load in new sounds via the floppy disc. Regardless, would you know any sites that has these sort of sounds that can be downloaded? Much appreciated, thanks

There's no way to load in new sounds. The sound bank is fixed - in the ROM of your keyboard. And the PSR is not expandable. The PSR is an arranger keyboard; synths and workstations (most of them) let you expand the sounds via expansion cards. What can be downloaded for the PSR, however, are the style files for the auto-accompaniment. Do a google on PSR + style + download and you'll find quite a bit of free style files.

Thanks Cheez, appreciate your help.
Stinks to hear that. Means i gotta get another keyboard for that purpose? Actually all i need is a keyboard with pretty realistic and nice sounds. More for church playing.
All people rave about are the tritons, motifs and fantom gs..
Don't think i'll be needing all the power tools in there, no plans to compose or do arrangements. Any recommendations on what's good to get?
