Default SOBBAT Bass Drive Breaker

i was in tymusic this afternoon and i took the opportunity to try the barber linden and sobbat bass drive breaker

you can probably read about the linden from someone else. i've seen the sobbat 'effectors' while struggling through jap sites. but this thing really does not EXIST outside japan, much like everything else in japan

this is not a review. these are just my thoughts

if you can't see, from L-R its volume, tone, a little flipswitch, drive and boost. the 2 footswitches are on/off and boost.

volume: controls the volume

tone: this is interesting, it sounds to me like instead of a usual treble-cut, this one sounds alot more like a filter. tweaking this will change the colouration of the fuzz, which i really like.

flipswitch: to the right, the thing sounds castrated. left, fuzzy. so it's probably a fuzz/drive toggle. something like the bass blogger

drive: pretty straight forward

boost: the boost knob will do nothing when the boost switch is not engaged. when the boost switch is engaged, the knob controls the amount of boost

i dont really know what a boost could be useful for. but hey... maybe you want to cut through the mix during your massive bass solo right......

i'm not gonna go into grandfather stories about how this thing sounds. but something worth noting, i could pretty much hear the fundamental frequencies no matter how i set it, which is something really good. its sitting in tymusic so you can figure out for yourself. but i like it alot

i didnt ask for the price on this thing. but you would expect to fork out near the 300 dollar mark

well.... they may be heard, but definitely not felt

for whatever reason CK seemed very eager to turn up the volume on the amp despite my efforts to keep the volume down on the bass

it resulted in my slop shop probably being audible from outside the store
