Default Best amp under $400

Hey guys, any suggestions for an amp or combo for $300-$400 and where I can buy it from? I have outgrown that Fender rumblething.

Of cos the cheaper the better but the emphasis here is on value. So if you know of something that is a little above $400 but sounds like a $700 box....

I play a Jazz bass and it's mostly for home use (though there are occasional weekend jam sessions), and i play rock and jazz 50/50 if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

bro- go try the Beta Aivin bass amp the BP-35 you see here is $270... IMO it has a good EQ section to complement any playing style, especially slapped notes

Thanks for the input so far guys, appreciate it. I'd rather buy new though, worried about no recourse & hassle if the amp breaks down 1 to 11 months after buying it used.

did a search on the a70 and found this quote from Hartke in the description : "Great all around combo, particularly great for acoustic bass." Hmmmm.....wonder why they particularly mentioned acoustic bass. Made specifically for that purpose (with aluminium cones)?

A bit over my budget of $400 but at least it has 70watts - enough to gig with a tired drummer and enough to piss off the downstairs neighbour.

i would guess that the high frequency response of the hartkes would complement the acoustic bass tone
