Default Faulty jack?

recently i've been hearing crackling sounds from my amp, so i checked my input jack. i found that it was loose, so i opened up my thunderbird and tightened it with a pair of pliers. but apparently a loose jack wasn't the cause of the problem, because i'm still getting the crackling noises when i wiggle by cable around in the jack. btw, it's not the cable that's at fault. neither is it the amp's.

any ideas on how to fix this? worst case scenario is saving up for a repair. and that won't be easy.

edit: i meant output jack. ><

yeah...that would mean sending it for repair, but that would be my last resort.

spray some electric contact cleaner on it. and scrap away the oxidation on the input jack.

maybe its the amp, not the bass/cable. try it another power socket, another amp power cable, another adapter...
