Default Need help for preamp wiring

need help from all the expert wiring guy out there.. my 5 string fender marcus miller bass facing a preamp faulty problem.. so i just replace it with aguilar ODB 3.. i wired follow the active/passive by pass switch, coz i need the true by pass mod means can operate without batt like ori preamp.. but after i done, got a very loud 'pop' sound when i switch the active/passive mod. just like unplug cable with amp on. can anyone tell me how to solve this sound problem? or any preamp can do this nicely? or anything have to add or have to change the switch? thanks
