Hi all...here's my newly acquired Charvel 3B bass. Got it at a bargain. It's made in japan in 1987, neck thru and sounds really solid. I've strung it BEAD. It holds the lower notes really well. May wanna change the preamp circuit to 18v though.

Here are some of the pics.

are you missing a screw in your bridge? or is it just me

the 18v circuit might do good for the low b, but if it's not farting out on you when you play then if it aint broke..

I got mine for 400. Condition's pretty good but you're right jbarker. There's one screw missing from the bridge. Was checking out all the nuts and bolts and that particular one broke off. So far the bridge is still solid as a rock without the one screw. Hope it'll last another 20 years. As for the low B, it sounds pretty solid although when I play C on the first fret, the tone is rather weak. Was thinking of just modding it to 18V...you think that will help?

might be more of a setup issue if your open b-string sounds fine, then it's probably not the electronics

The low B sounds fine actually. after a little more playing, it sounds quite ok actually...guess it's just me. My other bass is really loud with the Aguilar OBP-3. so that's probably why i felt this one is a little soft. In actual fact, the 3B is a pretty heavy sounding bass. Even with 20 year old electronics, it sounds real ballsy and extremely quiet when i'm not playing. Will put up pics of my other bass soon.
