Default Meinl Byzance: 10" Dark Splash and 21" Medium Ride

Meinl Byzance 10" Dark Splash

Dark. Trashy. Punchy.

If you dig the above characteristics in your splashes, this is the one for you. Absolutely lovin' mine.

Pictures to come tomorrow.

Meinl Byzance 21" Traditional Medium Ride

Almost similar to Zildjian's Avedis Sweet ride, also in 21", just with a better bell and darker stick.

I've yet to try this bad boy in a band setting yet, still learning to make full use of it and finding the sweet spot(s).

It's a very safe ride, imo. Can't go wrong with it. Balanced, easy to control. Well-defined stick, wash not overpowering. Nice, musical bell, sounds great whether hit with tip or shank.
Gorgeous crash, whether on the bow, or edge. Opens up fairly well.

Not sure if it would cut in a heavier rock setting if used as a ride, but as a crash, I see no problems.
