Stardust is back again, bigger & better!
Stardust is an annual nationwide talent search competition organized by the NUS Students’ Business Club (Bizad Club). It comprises of 3 categories: bands, soloists and dance. The competition is open to all individuals aged between 15 to 29 years.

This year, Stardust would be organized around the theme “Zero Gravity – Rock the World”. The slogan combines both our passion to do something for youths our age as well as our desire to help disadvantaged children. All net profits of this event goes to the Children's Cancer Foundation.

Registration fees at $18/40/30 for solo/band/dance
Registration starts 15 Jan 2010!
Deadline: 12 March 2010
Band maximum 5 members/group
Dance maximum 10 member/group

can my band play instrumental rock song?

Hi!

No rap music is allowed. Song lyrics containing vulgarity, explicit sex, political issues and drugs will not be allowed as well.
So any other genres of music will be okay.

30. Each band is allowed to perform any song of their choice for the auditions. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to reject any song deemed unsuitable for the competition.
31. The selection of song for the Grand Finals and Semi Finals will be based on a first-come-first-serve basis after audition results are released.
32. All finalists must inform the Organizing Committee of their choice of song/music at least 1 week before the Semi-finals and Grand Finals.


Hi, I've a few questions.

How many songs are required for auditions?
What is meant by point 31?
From point 32, does it mean bands get to choose any song they want?
How many songs are required for Semi and Grand?
Are covers or originals preferred?

Hi!

Each band is required to perform one song each at auditions, semis & finals.
With regards to points 31 & 32, they mean that the bands are free to choose any songs they want (except that it cannot contain song lyrics with vulgarity, explicit sex, political issues and drugs). However, in the event that two bands chose the same song to perform, the first band which indicated the song selected will be allowed to perform that song, while the other band will have to pick another song.
Covers & originals are both allowed, no preference!
