Default Please Tell Me Where?

Hi bass SOFTies!

Glad to see a thriving community of bass players just chilling out here and seeing new members come in here and there.

I write this thread in response to many of the threads i've been seeing over the time i've been around the forums (ain't that long but long enough to notice some common threads popping up).

Many a times we get the "guys, do you know where to find so-so item/equipment/bass/pedal" etc. It's really nothing wrong to ask such questions but i think we can streamline the forum if we follow some simple guidelines in finding the equipment that we want.

1. Look out for the local distributor for the particular item you are looking for. E.g. If you're looking for say a Fender bass, the local distributor would be Swee Lee. If For Musicman basses, Sinamex at Parklane. Being able to contact them on the equipment that you want would save alot of wild guesses that you'll get over here. I'm not saying that you can't get accurate information that you want over here, just that it's right to start with the distributor first. =)

2. Look out for any parallel importers locally. For e.g. Music Theme brings in CIJ Fenders even though they don't have it locally here.

3. Check out the manufacturer's website for any local distributor. Sometimes you'll find weird shops being the sole distributor for the equipment that you want. I've met that before. Heh.

4. Then ask when all else fails. Maybe someone somewhere has some secret passageway that will lead you to what you want.

I hope that helps everyone here. I really hope to see more threads where we can just GAS it out all the way. Heh.

Happy bass playing
