Default Help in getting a bass

Hi all, i know there are TONS of threads asking what to get as a first bass. ive come across quite a number of people recommending the SX package at Davis. Think it costs $250? hmm. was thinking if that was a better option then compared to getting a cheap second hand bass for around $100 (amp not included).

and if the SX package is better, IS IT STILL IN STOCK?????????????????? hahah thanks lots. and does it come in other colours other den red. hahaha thanks lots

and for the timbre bass at standard value. do they only come with the bass? or does it come in a set like a amp and all that? thanks.

it hink you are referring to an amp starter pack- you can call the good people @ Std Value to check if they offer such a deal: 63686586

in this price bracket, it's not quite better off if one chooses to go with a starter pack or invest in used gear. what you really need to consider is whether the acquisitions would serve you well, regardless of its brand name or nature.

and i seriously need suggestions. should i get a cheap bass at 100 plus to start off, or spend around 400for a midranged bass and a seperate amp for 100-200, or get those starter packs that come with everything?

I don't think you should get starter packs.. When you get better, you would want to buy a new and better bass.. Maybe get a good mid range second hand bass with a amp for a start?

Davis Guitar should have those in huge abundance. if you're insecure, just ring them up. google "Davis Guitar" and search for their contact information.

but what's your budget?

cause my first bass was the ibanez starter pack and it cost me about 460 bucks.
it served me pretty well for like close to 3 years before i changed my bass.
