Default Need Suggestion On Bass To Get

First of all, Hi everyone.

I have some problem in choosing which bass to get. I got my 1st bass from my uncle, and now I'm getting my own bass.
I have already decided on getting a Ibanez bass, but there are so many choices and i cant decide on which.

And yes, i know its all up to my personal opinion, and i have to test it out myself. But i need suggestion.

I have a budget of $800+/-

I thank you in advance, for reading my post and hopefully getting a reply.

would you like to consider schecter? the sound is really good i must say, probly due to the active pickups. and on a whole, the bass is pretty small too. or at least smaller than a normal bass. yea. comes pretty cheap too around $600+

1. Why an Ibanez? The feel, the price, the quality, the brand loyalty?

2. You got a budget. What about other preferences? Do you want active or passive? 4 or 5 or 6 strings? What kinda pick ups are you looking at? Have you any preferences for body and neck and fretboard woods?

3. If Qn. 2 was a little overwhelming, then maybe you can tell us what kinda music you are looking to play mostly, and what kinda sound/tone you're looking for.

A personal opinion : I use a MIJ Fender Precision which comes in slightly above your budget. I like it alot and it fits me like a glove.

Go try all basses in your budget range to really feel what would work for you, and what would not. Would a Jazz Bass neck be too small for you? A P-Bass neck too wide? Not just fit, sound and playability is very important also.

Good luck in your search.

For Qn. 1, I have decide on Ibanez, as its is more fancy, and its quality is worth the price. I found fender quality great, but the price was ..
I tried out the J and P bass, i like the Jazz tone better.

For Qn. 2, I'm more into active bass and 4 strings for me. I prefer a rosewood fretboard, and I have nothing in particular for body and neck.

For this, I like more to the Funk, and Rock&Roll.

if you don't mind a 2nd hand bass, the bass buy/sell section has quite a few good deals.

http://soft.com.sg/forum/bass-buy-se...r800-sale.html

http://soft.com.sg/forum/bass-buy-se...back-sale.html

http://soft.com.sg/forum/bass-buy-se...egotiable.html

the last link is a 5-string bass, but i thought it's worth checking out.

cheers!

ps: i'm an Ibanez fan too

Thank you all for your replies.
I'll go take a look on the SRX 700.
Most likely getting it, if the tone is what I'm looking for.
